Renewable by design, sustainable by nature.
Renewability is built into everything we make.
Discover our commitment to renewable furniture and sustainable practices that support people and the planet.
Construction systems
feature versatile, durable designs with components accessible using just a single hand tool.
Fabrics
are secured with hook-and-loop closures, making them simple to remove, clean, or replace without special tools.
Foams
are high-density, healthcare-grade, and fully covered under our warranty—because comfort and quality should never degrade.
A moisture barrier
laminated to interior foam protects against spills and keeps moisture from reaching the foam.
Wood framing
uses premium engineered hardwood panels for superior structural integrity that won’t crack over time.
Finishes
are applied using a two-part polyurethane system that delivers long-lasting durability and easy custom stain matching. Our finish holds up to the multiple daily cleanings required to prevent infections.
Sustainability extends beyond materials. We source 70% of our supplies within 500 miles of our Midwest facilities, reduce waste with recyclable packaging (steel, foam, plastic, corrugate, and wood), and offer 90% environmentally-conscious fabric options. Most of our furniture is GREENGUARD® and BIFMA® e3 Level certified and rigorously tested—including for bariatric and dynamic weight standards—to ensure safety, durability, and compliance.
Our unique renewable design systems extend product lifespan and reduce landfill waste, making Wieland a smart investment for both people and the planet. And with a 25-year warranty on fully renewable products and 10 years on partially renewable designs, we stand by our promise: quality that endures, service that stays with you.Â

BIFMA e3 Level®
The BIFMA e3 Level® certification is a multi-attribute, third-party program for evaluating sustainability in the furniture industry. Based on the BIFMA e3 Furniture Sustainability Standard, LEVEL offers manufacturers valuable feedback for assessing the environmental, human, and social impacts of their products, facilities, and organizations.
Under the LEVEL certification program, products and processes are evaluated based on four performance criteria:
- Materials
- Use of energy
- Atmosphere and ecosystem health
- Social responsibility

The Re-Purpose and Re-Use Plan
This plan gives customers the opportunity to support sustainable practices, contribute toward LEED certification, and divert furniture from landfills—all while offering aid to those in need around the world. Re-purposing often costs less than disposal.
GREENGUARD® Certification
GREENGUARD® Certification ensures that a product meets some of the world’s highest standards for low emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) into indoor air.
Because indoor air quality (IAQ) is closely tied to health, it’s a critical concern in homes, schools, healthcare environments, and commercial spaces. VOC emissions from building materials and furnishings are a major source of indoor air pollution. GREENGUARD Certification provides resources to help identify low-emitting products and offers manufacturers credible tools to support and promote their sustainability efforts.
GREENGUARD Certification has been widely adopted as a trusted standard for low-emitting products and has been the basis for the LEED credit for low-emitting furniture since 2002.
